Jess Whitehead

Jess Whitehead is a young Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He is just 23 and he already have many interesting works in his portfolio. Most of these are great abstract experimentation. He specializes in photo illustration and digital art, typography and design. His style consists or creating and manipulating different forms, photographs and organic shapes into artworks with surreal and abstract vibe.

From what I can gather from Whitheads work is he tends to use vibrant complementary colours. Colours that work successfully well together but at the same time give that 80s vibe. Thats how i see it anyways. As a fan of colour, I am thoroughly attracted to his work.

Jess Whitehead uses digital painting to create her masterpieces. Digital Media is an emerging art form which traditional painting techniques (such as oil paints and watercolours) are applied by  means of a computer or a graphic tablet. In digital painting, the artist uses painting techniques to create the image directly onto the computer. Whitehead has an abstract vibe with the use of advanced photoshop. As well creating abstract pieces he has also designed graphic posters for musicians such as Scottish DJ Calvin Harris. As shown below.
